SAB Foundation awards fully funded tertiary scholarships to 11 Students

The Stephen Asare Bediako (SAB) Foundation has awarded fully funded tertiary scholarships to 11 brilliant but needy students. The announcement was made during the Speech and Prize Giving Day ceremony at Archbishop Porter Girls Senior High School in Takoradi on November 16, 2024.

The SAB Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to supporting young individuals with exceptional academic potential who face financial challenges. This year, 10 students from Archbishop Porter Girls and an additional student from a nursing school were honored with scholarships worth GHS 5,000 each to support their educational expenses.

Presenting the scholarships on behalf of the SAB Foundation, Madam Yaa Amoako-Adu, CEO of Apave Ghana Inspection, delivered a stirring speech that inspired the beneficiaries to embrace education as a tool for transformation.

“Believe in yourself, take the leap, and watch your dreams unfold. Your education is your superpower—use it to change the world,” she emphasized. She also encouraged the students to maintain resilience and focus, urging them to view challenges as stepping stones to greatness.

Madam Amoako-Adu left the audience with these powerful words of motivation: “Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle. Shine bright and pursue your passions. Stay focused, work hard, and achieve your goals.”*

The scholarship recipients from Archbishop Porter Girls SHS include Jennifer Frimpong, Asiedu Ofori Nana Yaa, Amankwah Nana Egyeima, Atuahene Adubea Baffour, Naa Hildegarde Dawn, Oboh Angela, Owusu Grace Tenkorang, Yennah Cyrilla Poupele , Acquah Lordine and Eyison Adeline. Jennifer Anokwah Saiw is the beneficiary from the nursing school.

The SAB Foundation’s Excellence in Education Awards Scheme is a flagship initiative that identifies and supports outstanding final-year students from secondary schools across Ghana. This program provides financial assistance to enable these students to further their education at universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions.

By rewarding academic excellence, the scheme aims to encourage students to pursue their dreams without the hindrance of financial challenges.

The award targets final-year students with exceptional academic achievements who also demonstrate financial need. A rigorous selection process ensures fairness and transparency, ensuring that the most deserving students benefit from this life-changing opportunity.
