In what can be described as emotional, the Commander-in-chief of Ghana’s Armed Forces, John Dramani Mahama has made a passionate appeal to his critics who want to see him out of office. The President who was speaking at an orientation workshop for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives at the Local Government Training Institute in Accra Tuesday finally addressed his critics.
In his own words ““For those who disagree with me and are anxious to see my back, [they are] not to worry, 2016 is not too far away. I will urge them to be patient; in this difficult job the least one expects is comradeship and solidarity”
President Mahama who has in an earlier interview with KSM mentioned that his government has not been lucky since he was faced with election petition in the early days of his governance is so far the President who is welcomed with criticisms with corruption being the most echoed.
At the orientation, the President further told the MMDCEs that ““Recently the issue of corruption, transparency and accountability has become topical. Our people expect us to demonstrate that we able to deal with the canker of corruption decisively, both in terms of putting in place the systems that make is difficult for corruption to thrive and also deal decisively with cases of corruption wherever they may arise. They also expect us to be transparent and accountable in everything we do; I send you to your posts with my full backing to do everything you can stamp out corruption”
