The Most Influential Artiste in Ghana, Michael Owusu Addo (Sarkodie) is gradually making his name synonymous with Awards. Unless he is not nominated, it is a sure win. The progeny of DuncWills Entertainment has an advice for Up and Coming Artistes.
Undeniably, most Up and Coming Artistes look up to him since he has made history by being the only Artiste to win BET Award in the country though the 3rd to be nominated. With his back-fired Konvict deal, the Rapperholic with barrage lessons learnt advises that, Up and Coming Artistes should open their eyes when signing a deal with a label.
“When you are signing with a Record Label, it is like being imprisoned. You sign your life to the person” Sarkodie said in an interview with KOD on Radio Gold. “I listen to my instincts and when I don’t feel right about it I don’t do it.” Sarkodie detailed.
To him (Sarkodie) any signing should be a win-win endeavour and not because one has the resources and platform take advantage of the Talent.
According to the CEO of Rap University, he listens more to his instincts and pray about whatever he does and that is his secret. So his simple advise is that, Up and Coming Artistes should becareful when signing to Record Label and be sure that clauses suit both parties and they are convenient with them.
His next Album, ‘Sarkology’ which is scheduled to be launched at Accra Sports Stadium on 21st December has some songs like ‘Down on One’ , ‘Bounce’ , ‘Illuminati’ among others enjoying pampering playlists on DJs list.
