Details of One Week Celebration of deceased Buk Bak member, Ronnie Coaches

www.233times.net received a mail from Tic Tac who is the Chairman of MUSIGA G/A Regional Branch concerning the one week celebration of late Ronnie Coaches who passed away a week ago.

The letter unedited from the Office of MUSIGA and signed by Nana Kwaku Duah who is known in the musical corridors as Tic Tac reads:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing officially from The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) together with a special select committee to announce to your outfit the plans the association has towards the sudden death of Ronnie Coaches of BukBak. Ronnie was one artiste that helped in making the “art form Hip-life” of Ghana music industry today.

Our plans are to provoke the history and contribution of this group in the music industry through the media. We are planning to merge this event to remind the Ghanaian and the rest of the world about the volumes of artistic works that has come out of this artistic struggle of this very unique group.
With the help of the media houses we would like to do a celebration and fund raising event to help the family of our departed brother, friend and national icon.
MUSIGA would like the media to dedicate a program to the memory of the group and Ronnie as a person, give him the necessary media attention and airplay of old and new songs as well as creating awareness for the upcoming funeral arrangements.
NOTE: Thursday November 28, 2013 will be the one week gathering for our late brother and colleague Ronnie Coaches.
Venue: KING SOLOMON DANSOMAN ACCRA. TIME: 8am PLEASE CONSIDER THIS AS YOUR INVITATION Dates of funeral, fund raising and celebrating concert would be announced later to the media. We would appreciate your support to make sure our brother gets a befitting burial.

ABOUT THE GROUP

Buk Bak coined from “BOOK BACK” was first formed to see how far Prince Bright also known as Bling Sparkles, Ronnie Coaches and Isaac Shoetan could go considering their love for music as a window to vent their feelings and means to entertain their ever increasing fan base.

The group then didn’t know what they were bargaining for in the beginning but it didn’t come as a surprise when they were headlining shows from Ghana, USA, UK to many other places.
They began free styling and gained that street credibility every artist needed back then to survive the Ghanaian hip life industry. They were snapped and signed on to Abib Records, which the group described as “good contract and good money”in an interview. The group then recorded their first studio album “Komi K? Kena”, and then followed it up with “Aw?ns?m”and before topping it up with “Nkomhy?”with Abib of Abib Records where their current affairs manager Mohammed Khan Addae was Public Relations.
After a few years of working, Isaac Shoetan left the group to pursue his own projects leaving Ronnie Coaches and Bright to record“1662”, “SikaKorkor”, and then “Gold Coast”with Agicoat Records before Ronnie Coaches and Bright also split to pursue their solo projects in 2006. Bling Sparkles recorded “Light over Darkness” which had hit single “Condom” with Prince Dave Records.

He then moved to the United States to pursue other equally important projects. Ronnie Coaches recorded “Screen Saver” an equally successful album before the two announced of their comeback in 2012 to released club banger “Kolom”,the group’ comeback was managed by Amanda jissih and Baron.
The duos songs are being inspired by stuff they dealt with growing up. People love Buk Bak for their party songs and they have realized this and would go all the way to entertain the people like they have always done.
They mentored 4X4, Castro, Pope Skinny, K-2, Buky Core and whole lot of artists who are all now making people dance everywhere their music go. On November 21, 2013, Ronnie Coaches a member of the group was pronounced dead at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Coaches had suffered a heart attack.
