“They are all just empty talk, you will need a bulldozer to uproot me” Nunoo-Mensah on new office

4687814775543_6229070596293Former National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Nunoo-Mensah (retired), has told his critics his new role as head of Human Security unit of the National Security Secretariat cannot amount to a demotion.

He said, for those claiming he has been uprooted from office, that effort will require a bulldozer and not mere words to achieve it.

“They are all just empty talk, you will need a bulldozer to uproot me, not mere talks…I know that there are people, who would want to see the back of me but I am going to be around for a very long time,” he said.

Government over the weekend announced the appointment of Brigadier Nunoo-Mensah then National Security Advisor to head the Human Security Department.

The announcement has been described by some as an apparent demotion in the current administration and a reaction by government to comments that labour unions, who were not content with their living conditions should pack their things and leave the country.

Speaking to Radio Gold on Monday, however, the former security advisor dismissed the suggestion that he has been demoted.

According to the security expert, his new role is to give meaning to the vision of the John Mahama-led administration by ensuring that people live comfortably in the country. He said he reports directly to the president and not National Security Coordinator, Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (retired) as media reports claim.

“My job is to make sure whoever has been given a job and is being paid does the job and does it well for the president to succeed.
