Two persons believed to behind the recent spate of child kidnapping in Accra have been arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command.
The two; Ernest Kwabena Koomson and Isaac Ntie were arrested at their hide out at Darkuman in Accra after they embarked on three separate operations where they demanded a ransom after kidnapping underage children.
Addressing a news conference on Saturday, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan said tireless efforts by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command resulted in the arrest of the two who are in police custody.
“With diligence and tenacity of purpose by the Accra Regional Command, two suspects were arrested in Darkuman, in relation to the kidnapping cases that started on the 1st of December from the ICGC Christ temple, on the 8th of December from the Winners Chapel and on the 15th of December from the Christ Outreach Church,” he explained.
According to him, the police administration is convinced that this is a case of a serial kidnapper and an accomplice.
