President John Mahama will today Tuesday interact with the media at the Flagstaff house. This is part of activities to mark the First year of the first term of the president.
The meeting which is scheduled for 11 am today at the banquet hall of the flagstaff house will allow selected media practitioners including the presidential press corps, pose questions to the president about his governance.
The government last year has had to deal with a persistent energy crisis, an unprecedented series of fire outbreaks,over 12 labour unrests, increases in utility tariffs and fuel prices and corruption.
Officials at the presidency say provisions have been made in this year’s presidential media interaction for specialized practitioners such as sports and showbiz reporters in a response to concerns raised in previous meet the press series hosted by late president Atta Mills.
Details of the other activities this week to mark the anniversary are however not yet known.
The President has been reflecting on his one year in office in the attached video. Acknowledging that the past year was challenging, he was however optimistic that the subsequent years would be much better.
On the economy, the President said his focus for the remainder of his term in office will be to reduce inflation and interest rates.
The President also touched on other key sectors of the economy.
