The Olympique Marseille ace says he is recuperating faster than expected, but will not rush a comeback as he wants to follow “a strict plan” aimed at full recovery
Injured Ghana international Andre Ayew is hopeful of a quick return to action since he feels he is “not too far away from full recovery.”
The Marseille midfielder, who got injured on his knee during a 2014 World Cup play-off against Egypt in November, said “the physiotherapy sessions are going well and my condition is far better than what was anticipated, so I am delighted by that.”
Ayew gave the assurance during a visit to the Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.
He added: “Though I am happy with the progress, I am following a strict plan aimed at getting me fully healed and ready for the game. It’s been positive so far and I pray it continues that way.
“I am very grateful to the doctors, physiotherapists, my family, colleagues and all the fans who continue to wish me well.
“I hope the New Year bring us all greater success, especially at the World Cup.”
