Former aide to Nana Addo denies defecting to NDC

download (1)Former aide to Nana Akufo-Addo, the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic party (NPP), Abu Jinapor has denied claims he has defected to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Herald newspaper on Wednesday reported that Samuel Abu Jinapor’s decision is partly informed by allegations that he was a mole from President John Mahama within the NPP.

Responding to the claims, Mr. Jinapor told Citi News, he is still a firm believer of the NPP and a supporter of its former flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.

He explained he has been busy practicing law since he was called to the bar in 2012.

“Anybody who knows the way the legal profession works and the way legal practice work, you need to take time to study the ropes of legal practice; you need to understudy somebody,” he said.

According to him, the training standards of the legal chamber he is practicing “are very high and that obviously gives me little time to do other things.”

Mr. Jinapor maintained that his absence “has nothing to do with politics. It’s a personal decision I have taken and I think it’s a very wise one.”
