Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian have released the first pictures of their new clothing collection for babies and toddlers.
Butterflies, polka dots and a muted take on leopard print are the order of the day, as well as peplum details, lace and gold embroidery.
The sisters revealed in an interview today that they started developing the line when Kourtney was pregnant with Penelope, now 19 months.
It was mainly Kourtney who was the inspiration, but as I got pregnant, I started to chime in,’ Kim told WWD.
‘Until you have your own child, you don’t realize how important it is for fabrics to be extra soft and accessible.’
The resulting 30-piece line is for girls aged 0-24 months, with a focus on super-soft, baby-friendly fabrics.
Kourtney said that she leaned on her experience of owning childrenswear boutique, Smooch, for six years.
‘I used to do the buying for the store, and I had no idea what was practical,’ she said. ‘Now I know what mothers are looking for. And shopping for my kids is way more fun than shopping for myself.’
Khloe added that designing for babies presented new challenges
‘It’s more complicated designing baby clothes than you would think,’ she said. ‘A lot of things can get cheesy or cheap-looking really fast. It’s mainly about finding baby-friendly fabrics and things you want to put your child in or give as gifts.’
The line is priced from $14.99 to $29.99, and will go on sale exclusively at Babies ‘R’ Us from March 15.
