Patronize local tourism not Dubai if you’re promoting Ghana – Minority Leader to Mahama

kyei-mensah-bonsuGhanaians have now bought into the idea of patronizing made in Ghana goods and President Mahama blazed the trail when he stamped out his locally manufactured shoes when he recently addressed the nation. This remarkable action got most Ghanaians thumbing him up and appreciating his efforts.

It is on this note that the minority leader in Parliament, has urged President Mahama to put a stop to patronizing tourism in other countries if he intends to inculcate the habit of buying made in Ghana goods.

Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu in an interview on Okay FMwondered why Dubai and South Africa had become President Mahama’s favorite holiday destinations when Ghana had local destinations rated higher according to international standards.

“If he (President Mahama) is trying to promote our local industries by showing his shoes, then I want to challenge him to end the vacations he spends in Dubai and patronize Ghana’s tourism,” he said.
