Kofi Kinaata wasn’t nominated for ‘New Artiste of the year?’ Like seriously? Fans shocked!

5709ab37f70d899bd3794356bcaad57a_XL-360x250A name many people were confident of featuring the ‘New Artiste of the year’ category in this year’s Ghana Music Awards is Kofi Kinaata, the Fante Rapper signed to Samini’s High Grade Family. Unfortunately, those who gambled their hopes on that category were electrified by the prestigious outfit which tells Ghanaians and the world which Artiste did well the previous year.

On Social Media where most people vented their spleen on Charter House, the Nigerian owned Organization, many people expressed disgust at the outfit why someone who had made enough waves in the media last year was absent in their list.

“If not for anything, ‘Odo pa’ by Castro which featured Kofi Kinaata and Asamoah Gyan is a hit song now and Kofi’s name is all over” a fan educated Charter House. Also, another who asked how popular a name which featured compared him to Kofi Kinaata and in his words wrote “so you want to tell me … (name withheld) is famous and did well than Kinaata? Charter House for a second be real!”

Residents of Takoradi are not happy with the list at all even though their very own Castro has been nominated in about 4 categories; Kofi Kinaata would have supplemented their entertainment nutrition if he was exclusively nominated for the ‘New Artiste of the year.’

www.233times.net investigations revealed that, most radio stations in Takoradi which reviewed the Ghana Music Awards Nominations have in a chorus echoed that the nominations was “very biased.”

Kofi Kinaata was by popular request reappeared on DJ Black’s ‘Open House Party’ latter part of last year, his ‘Onnyi chorus’ was one of the most played songs on radio last year, ‘Odo pa’ is a hit song since last year and Kofi Kinaata’s voice is highly represented. At least, Charter House should call “a spade a spade )nny3 shovel” a fan skewed that from Kinaata’s rap lines.

This year’s New Artiste of the year category has names like Akwaboah, Joey B and Kumi Guitar.
