I’m in full support of Milovan Rajevac’s return – Abedi Ayew Pele

SOCCER maestro Abedi Ayew Pele is in full support of Ghana coach, Kwasi Appiah’s decision to rope in Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac, ahead of the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

It had emerged that coach Appiah was in talks with his former boss for him to take up an advisory role in the technical team of the Black Stars in Brazil during the summer soccer festival.

To Abedi, Appiah’s decision to go for the services of the Serbian tactician would be a step in the right direction, taking into his track record with the Black Stars.

“I think going for Milo is not a bad idea. We have known him for some time; he now has enough knowledge about our players and how they play, and that is an advantage.

“The World Cup is a big stage; his ability to read and vary games will certainly help the technical team. He will be playing an advisory role which is good for every team. I personally don’t think it’s a bad idea,” he told DAILY GUIDE SPORTS exclusively at his East Legon residence on Saturday.

Ghana is in Group G, pitted against Portugal, Germany and USA for the June soccer festival.

Kwasi Appiah, former Black Stars skipper, was optimistic that if Ghana remained focused and disciplined, they would record another feat in the forthcoming tourney.

Milovan Rajevac, who was in-charge of the Black Stars from 2008 to 2010, took the team to the 2010 Nations Cup, which they lost during the final match and the 2010 World Cup as quarter finalists. He watched the Montenegro-Ghana international friendly from the stands at Podgorica last week.

Indications are that Coach Appiah would be putting in an official request for the services of the former Qatar manager for a World Cup advisory role soon.
