Gov’t should take some sense from Bawumia’s lecture – Kweku Baako Jnr

images (1)Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper wants the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to swallow its pride and brood over some salient economic alternatives proffered by the 2012 Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

This comes on the heels of a lecture that was delivered by the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana on the falling Ghanaian currency at the Central University College (CUC).

The lecture which was held on Wednesday, 25th March 2014 at the Miotso Campus of the University highlighted issues which according to the renowned economist, had led to the current economic challenges.

Hours after the lecture, Allotey Jacobs, Central Regional Communications Director of the NDC posited on ‘Kokrokoo’ that Dr. Bawumia was only using the opportunity to launch his political campaign.

But speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on the same platform, Kweku Baako Jnr opined differently saying “everything the man was talking about was strictly economics and not political.”

According to him, Dr. Bawumia really explained most of the issues in such a way that even the lay person could get to grasp with the subject matter, adding there is the need for government to lower its pride and pick lessons from what the lecture given by the former deputy BoG Governor.

“The man was talking strict economics and not giving a political message. He was not on a political platform. You don’t have to agree with everything he said but the essential features he pointed out, if government is so minded, he will take them on board because when the economy improves, it is for all of us…it is not a joke; it is a very important document,” he said.
