Later, another youthful group came to the station around 2am to report that their friend had been stabbed.

The complainants told the police that Adjei Adjetey was rushed to the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.

An investigator was dispatched to the health facility to investigate the matter.

While investigations were ongoing, police received information that Adjei Adjetey died at the hospital on Monday night.

He said efforts are being made to apprehend the suspect to face the law.

Mother’s grief

The mother of the deceased, Rebecca Ampah, a resident of Osu, told the paper that she had information that her son had been attacked around 11:30pm.

My son told me he was attending the funeral of a friend’s dad together with some friends in the area. Later information I received indicated that while they were returning, Darko, who was riding a motorbike then, nearly knocked down my son. My son fell and so when he stood up, he went straight to ask the suspect why he did that. This resulted in an argument but they were separated, she said.

After that, Adjei continued his journey but the suspect, who was then armed, walked straight to my son and stabbed him in the back and neck as well.

Friends of Adjei rushed him to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

The mother of the deceased called on members of the general public to help arrest Joseph Darko to face the law.
