Nhyiraba Kojo Spends over GH20, 000.00! On Birthday Bash

Spintex, a suburb of Accra on 10th March witnessed the biggest party ever to hit the neighbourhood. Those who honoured the invitation will have so much to tell friends and family as the party of Nhyiraba Kojo will be the topic of their discussion throughout the week. Celebrities who attended will as well ‘envy’ their colleague’s party.

Born on 6th March, Nhyiraba Kojo, the ‘Turn Around’ hit maker had to reschedule the party date to a weekend where fans, friends and family will have no conflicting schedule to make it to his birthday party. This party was more of using one stone to kill two birds as it was a party that was for him (Nhyiraba Kojo) born on 6th March and his United Kingdom born Joy, who turned one year on 8th March. The wife of Nhyiraba, Rita, had to fly from United Kingdom together with their daughter to have this celebration in Ghana. The wife and daughter who booked a return ticket for a week to Ghana on British Airways will return to the Queen’s land this Wednesday.

On his birth date, 6th March, Nhyiraba Kojo posted on his Facebook wall that, he is going to throw a birthday party at his residence and all are invited including the one reading the post at that time. Finding it amusing, many people who saw the post on Facebook phoned the contact numbers to find out details about the postings. “Yes, you are invited, and come along with a friend when you are coming”, Derby, the Ghanaian Promoter and Gregory both from www.233times.net , whose contacts you reach when you phone says this anytime anyone gets through with the numbers.

The party which was labeled by this reporter as the ‘stars get together’ attracted celebrities from all spheres of the showbiz industry. Skrew Faze, Guru, Bosheba, Joe Morr, Eduwoji, Atimbila, Anita (Editor-in-chief of Fylla Newspaper), Sammy Lee, a singer from Nigeria, movie stars, among countless number of people were there to support their colleague. Ruff and Smooth who were in Sweden for a tour at the time of the party had to be represented by their management; Theophilus and Lens.

In his usual inquisitiveness as this work comes with, this reporter witnessing the extravagance of liquors and food had to interview the man of the night (Nhyiraba Kojo) as to how much went in the party. The affable artist in his shy nature said “oh it was just a little spending”. Not content with the answer, this reporter had to poke Nhyiraba Kojo more for the amount of money that was spent. He finally threw up the amount, “oh, like over GH20, 000.000”. In remembrance of his first year Adisadel College Mathematics, this reporter in attempt to bring accuracy to his readers started his calculations; return ticket for Joy (Nhyiraba Kojo’s daughter) and wife, myriad bottles of Barleys, Martini, Campari, Hennessey, Amarula, the two birthday cakes for himself (Nhyirba Kojo) and daughter, the conveyance of fans, friends and family from their residence to the venue of the party, the slaughtered cow, goats and sheep, the array of foods, the thousands of Ghana Cedis he shared during his performance etc are all worth calculative of that amount.

Performances by artists, both upcoming and already-made-stars were witnessed from Biggie Smalls, Mikel, Sketches Ayisem, Wasky Gee, Shaker Rhymes, Yoo Gee, Atimbila, Skrew Faze, Guru, Eduwoji, the birthday boy himself (Nhyirba Kojo) among scads of personalities whose names will fill the whole of this story. Hosting the party was by Nana Kwesi Coomson, Ghana’s finest showbiz reporter cum Celebrity Publicist and Prince Derby, the best promoter in Ghana.

The party was covered by media houses from Fylla and Flex Newspapers, www.233times.net , www.ghanafilla.com, www.ghbase.com etc. If you were not in Spintex, specifically, Nhyiraba Kojo’s residence on 10th March, 2012, then you had a lot of happiness to lose.
