The second edition of the Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP) which had been postponed several times has finally sneaked its settlement on 13th October, 2012. The award ceremony which aims at applauding media men who left a mark in the media sands last year is the first of its kind since media reached adolescence in Ghana. Though Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) awards its members annually, the Radio and Television Awards is in scope of the Radio and Television Personalities in the motherland.

This year’s award features Ghana’s greatest talents, Ruff and Smooth. Speaking to this reporter, the duo in their excitement to perform on 13th October said they feel proud to share in the appraisals of their pivots (media men). To them, the biggest respect of every Artist goes to the media man. “Trust me, they can make and unmake you” Ahkan said in a laughing out loud tone. To Bullet, the Radio and Television is the centre piece of every musician’s shine and floaingt to stardom so sharing stage on that night is a privilege.

Asking who and who they are looking forward to win and which category, Ruff n Smooth in a chorus said “the media in Ghana has grown to a very impeccable height and everyone is doing great. Choosing who to win is as difficult as choosing which of our songs we like. We wish the deserving ones win”. Asking what to expect during the night, they promised of a spectacular performance and added that, they are going to perform their new songs like ‘Maakoma’, ‘BMG’, ‘Afrobeats’ alongside other known ones, of which ‘swagger’ will not be missing on the night.

Other Artists like Efya, Kojo Antwi, D3, Asem and Stonwbuoy will share stage with Ruff n Smooth on the night.
