Fame is a multi-edged tool which could be used to magnet wealth at the fastest pace. Unfortunately, Celebrities brewed in Ghana are not exploring the other avenues where their fame could help them own properties of their own.
When most Ghanaians float on the Showbiz Ocean, a water body which requires more than talent to float on, their first and only business venture is clothing line. This leaves many concerned fans ask if that is the only business which is instinctively cursed on Ghanaian Celebrities. And the surprising thing is, each one wants to name their clothing line after themselves; lack of creativity on that aspect.
Why the headline has Actor John Dumelo’s name is that, he is one genius Celebrity who is doing amazing with his fame and he is subconsciously opening the eyes of Ghanaian Celebrities to know that, fashion is not the only place they could endeavour. John Dumelo is an owner of a hotel (Maselo Hotel) located at East Airport, a plush neighbourhood in Ghana.
The American Celebrities are worth emulating but let’s not look far; our siblings in Nigeria are doing amazing when it comes to investment which makes the distinction between the smart and confused minds very clear.
One may argue that, the American Celebrities and Nigerian Celebrities earn more than 233times what the Ghanaian Celebrities earn per work but D’Banj just started his gari production which according to www.233times.net sources in Nigeria is doing so well.
I am surprised to know that no Ghanaian Celebrity has been able capitalize on the avalanche of water’ production in Ghana, a start-up capital any well known Celebrity in Ghana could afford.
Deloris Frimpong Manso who flirts with Showbiz with the name ‘Delay’ is one who is really doing well and is worth mentioning in this article. Her Delay mackerel alone is a great venture and she has indeed stretched the intelligence gap.
Sulley Muntari’s 4FK Motorsport is as well a genius endeavour as well as Reggie Rockstone’s condom production and Reggie’s Office. Such brilliant minds.
Ghanaian Celebrities, enough of the clothes you are inundating the economy with because no one in Ghana could stock his/her wardrobe with one type of design from a Celebrity no matter how ardent a fan that person is.
From our investigations and observations, most Celebrity clothing lines do not survive the competition in the market more than 3 years; they always end up as epitomes of failure. There are indeed other ventures you could look at beyond clothing.
This is an ugly truth.
