Former member of Parliament for Okaikoi South, Nana Akomea has described the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration as the worst government in Ghana’s history.
According to him, under the supposed Better Ghana Agenda Ghanaians are reeling in abject poverty due to what he says is the ineptitude of the Mahama-led administration.
“Is this the better Ghana Agenda we were promised? This is disgraceful” he bemoaned.
Nana Akomea made the statement on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday while discussing the current economic situation in the country.
Government has called on Ghanaians to be patient as it pursues pragmatic measures to end the economic challenges. Whilst acknowledging the economic challenges is partly due to deficit in 2012, it has also blamed the global economic down turn and the attainment of a middle income status as a contributory factor.
But Nana Akomea on Ekosii Sen programme Monday pooh poohed such claims describing it as “pure propaganda”.
He intimated that the economy which hitherto was booming has been reduced to nothing due to the wanton dissipation of public funds by government.
The former Okaikoi South MP said “things are getting worst” by the day because it is obvious the Mahama-led administration lacks the ability to solve the economic issues.
Citing the payments of what he says are dubious judgement debts, Nana Akomea questioned President Mahama’s commitment towards the development of the nation.
He could not fathom why government, with all the oil revenue and taxes at its disposal could balloon Ghana’s debt stock with very little substantive projects to show.
Nana Akomea called for a more pragmatic way of solving the economic crisis than the needless propaganda.
