Guru angry at Bola Ray and explains why he is doing better than Sarkodie

guruNana Yaw Adjei Maradona known in Ghanaian Showbiz as Guru has expressed dismay at the CEO of the Record label (Empire Records) he is on, Bola Ray. Though it is a Ghanaian culture that, a child should never speak ill or better yet point to the house of his father with his left hand, Guru has defied that axiom.

Revealing on Takoradi’s Skyy Power 93.5 fm’s ‘OC Showbiz Review,’ Guru said Bola Ray could be his Manager but he could have his personal interest which could not be him. This was an answer to the question that his Takoradi fans were upset why Bola Ray ‘rained’ money on Sarkodie during his performance at Ghana meets Naija and they did not see same thing when he (Guru), a progeny of his label was on stage.

In his own words, the tape available to www.233times.net has Guru saying “somethings do not inspire nor motivate me. You know it’s all about Bola, it could be that he could manage you as an Artiste but he would also have his interest or whoever he likes.” Linking that to how a parent could have many children but have a favourite, Guru further detailed “It could be that your mother may have 10 children but may have a favourite in the 10. That does not mean Bola likes one person than the other or he doesn’t not like me. I think you should ask him (Bola Ray) that question but to my understanding, he did what he felt and I can’t challenge him on that but spectators would ask how can a whole Manager of Guru claiming this is your Artiste do that.”

The emotional Guru said in all, Bola Ray did what pleases him but there is no way the person (Sarkodie) he rained money on is doing better than him. Comparing how many hit songs he had last year to Sarkodie’s, Guru said as at last year, he was known for having 5 hit songs on air but how many hit songs Sarkodie (describing him as the person Bola rained money on)had on air.

“This year, I have 3 hit songs but how many has the person he did that to have in the system and how well is he doing? So Managers should be careful of what they do. I am not the one to judge him on what he did but I think it doesn’t make sense. So far as I am your Artiste and was on the stage, you should give me that respect.” Guru educated listeners of Takoradi why he is doing better than Sarkodie and why he does not agree with Bola Ray’s performance.

“There are things you do to psychologically express your interest in the public domain. Sometimes those behind would be like in the game plan in Showbiz as in Show and business, you should rather do that for your Artiste instead of the other Artiste. In other way, you are endorsing a competitor, what is not yours for same gains which your Artiste should have. But to me, that inspires me the more, that tells me to move up to the next level. That is the main reason why I have named my album ‘game up,’ it entails so many things. I stand to correct all loopholes and fill every hole in my previous works.” Guru extensively spoke.

  1. There is no doubt at all that Guru is (was) far better than Sarkodie comparing them to the sorts of quality they channeled out last year and this year as well.
His ‘Pooley’ track was right on point. Guru, please don’t be bothered with what Bola Ray did; your fans love you and I intend building a blog dedicated solely for good musicians like yourself.

It will be talk of GH and plans are underway. Kabenlah.com has gone global and the next big thing will be something you and for Ghanaians.

  2. Only one person have commented on this post n yet u are saying guru is why hotter than sarkodie. Sometimes its not abt ya hits but how u carry yaslf Wai. Someone who has numerous awards both locally n internationally n performed on one of the most prestigious stages in the world needs commendation.
