Mahama is clear example of failed youth president so NPP should stop age crusade – Ken. Agyapong

President JMOutspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, has cautioned against the intention to campaign on age by his own party members saying President John Dramani Mahama’s poor governance has made the crusade for youthful age in politics irrelevant.

He was speaking to the issue of internal bickering within the opposition party and reports that a bodyguard of twice NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, allegedly attacked former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani and some activists said to be Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten’s supporters at a recently held meeting at Alisa Hotel.

Whiles discrediting the report, the NPP MP called for a cessation of any form of hostilities since it brings more division in the party and such behavior gives arsenal to their opponents to use against them in future elections.

Hon. Ken Agyapong told Kwame Nkrumah ‘Tikese’ host of ‘Adeakye Abea‘ on Okay Fm that calls from Alan Kyeremanten’s supporters for Nana Addo to step down because on two occasions he failed to win the general elections should not be the yardstick for selecting a Presidential candidate, because it can also be said be said by Akufo-Addo’s sympathizers, that Mr Kyeremanten does not deserve a third bite at the cherry having failed to win two internal elections.

‘The argument that Nana Addo failed to win for the party twice does not hold because someone will also argue on the same premises that Alan too should not contest the Flagbearership race for failing to win two consecutive internal elections which even requires fewer electorate..then both Nana Akufo Addo and Alan Kyerematen should step down for a different face to stand for the party if that is what the followers of Nana and Alan want. They should also stop using age as a campaign tool in 2016 elections because Mahama is a living testimony of a young President who has failed this country,’ he said.
