The deceased, whose name was given as Abdul Fatawu Issah, is said to have collapsed during a handball game between KNUST and University of Ghana.

President of the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA), Dr. Joseph Ogah confirmed the sad news to Adom News, saying that Fatawu was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Dr. Ogah however, did not say which hospital Fatawu was rushed to.

Meanwhile, some blogs are reporting Fatawu was epileptic and he had an attack during the game. But Dr. Ogah refused to confirm any of that.

Fatawu was said to be waiting to graduate later this month.

His handball team members and even players of the opposing team are said to be in a state of shock at his death.

But reports say KNUST officials say they will not withdraw from the games.

The GUSA games started last Wednesday and features all public Universities in Ghana.
