Black Stars and Juventus playmaker, Kwadwo Asamoah has urged his Ghanaian teammates to play out of their skin to ensure they secure the needed points against Germany on Saturday.
The Black Stars currently lie third in Group G and must at least secure a point from their crucial game against Germany on Saturday to enable them salvage hope from their faltering World Cup aspirations.
Saturday’s game against the former world champions will be the second consecutive time the teams play each other after a 30 yard Mesut Ozil stunner gave the Germans a 1-0 win in 2010.
In an interview with SuperSport prior to Saturday’s game, Kwadwo Asamoah admitted to the team being under huge pressure to perform after their recent heroics in South Africa but was insistent the team had what it takes to thrive against Germany.
“People are expecting a lot from us because we were the last African in the last World Cup that played very well, so we need to do more. I know with the players that we have we can still do better.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Andre Ayew has also assured Ghanaians the team is well prepared for Saturday, insisting that they had learnt a lot from their last game against the U.S.A.
“We know we are in the group of death – a very tough group but we believe in ourselves and we will try and do something against Germany on Saturday.”
