But he, and so many others throughout the course of history, have proved that word — impossible — to be a lie, a limitation set by others.
Only we can dream and define what is possible; only we can dare to believe and achieve it.
Today, our Black Stars will be playing their second match in this World Cup tournament. They will be facing off with Germany.
All week, I have heard people mention how formidable the German team is; how they are reputed to be one of the best teams in the world.
That might very well be true, but let us not forget that our own Black Stars are also a formidable team; that our own Black Stars are also considered one of the best teams in the world.
Let us also not begin to set limitations—for ourselves, or for them.
Today anything is possible for the Black Stars. And it will be made even more probable with the full support of their nation behind them. Let us all watch this game with confidence and pride in our Black Stars.
We must hope and pray for their success throughout every moment of the match, even if there are times when things seem bleak or challenging.
We must not falter in our support but, rather, continue to believe, even against all odds; we must keep it in mind that for the Black Stars, and for Ghana, nothing is impossible.
We must keep daring to have faith in the miracle of what is possible, even — or, shall I say, especially — in the face of uncertainty.
May God bless our Black Stars.
May God continue to bless our homeland Ghana.
