Sammy Awuku says Mahama sanitary pad initiative is demonic

1308005053860_7574212531559National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku, is set to wage a campaign against government decision to distribute sanitary pads to adolescent girls in less privileged Senior High Schools in the country.

According to him, the said action is demonic and part of plans to help the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) retain power in 2016.

“If you are eating with the devil you must use a long spoon. NDC must know it cannot fool the people all the time” he added.

Sammy Awuku is part of many Ghanaians who are opposed to the distribution of the sanitary pads.

They agreed that at a time teaching and learning materials such as chalk are in short supply, government found it prudent to pump money into a wasteful venture.

But the Ministry of Education has justified its actions insisting that the distribution of the sanitary pad is to prevent school dropouts.

Speaking on Oman FM’s political discussion programme, Boiling Point, a livid Awuku said the rationale behind the distribution of the pads is spiritual.

He could not fathom why among all the pressing issues confronting the educational sector, government chose to distribute sanitary pads to adolescent girls.

“I will embark on a nationwide campaign to ensure this thing does not work. Parents must wise up to salvage the future of their girl child” he stressed.

The NPP youth leader said it is evident all the NDC is concerned about is power thus will go to any length to ensure they are retain in power.

Sammy Awuku was convinced the sanitary pad initiative is “part of the process they have started for 2016 but the covenant keeping God this time will keep his covenant with Ghanaians”.
