Sounding more infuriated than usual, the man who is in the nomination of this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 12 times, Sarkodie is going bananas over the snail pace development in the country. The rapper cum singer, Michael Owusu Addo (Sarkodie), is showing more concern than the average Ghanaian will charge on politicians.
Very unusual of a songster to sound political, Sarkodie who went out of the shell of showbiz entered the political realms with hard ‘punches’ on politicians. Preaching on peace, the rapper reminded the listeners that, December is the voting month and he is wishing nothing but a peaceful one. Touching on political parties, Mr. Owusu Addo (Sarkodie) being more precise mentioned that, if you are from New Patriotic Party (NPP), dance according to the rhythm of your party and do not insinuate against any party.
“Everybody should be in their lane; we want peace, because Nana Akuffo Addo doesn’t pay fees. They (politicians) use our money for bread and cheese and we the citizenry sit and survive on gari and beans”, translated in English, his Twi rap had this message. Emphasizing on the aftermath of elections where politicians enjoy in the Jubilee House with meat and wine on their dinner tables, Sarkodie voiced out that, there has been regular elections but no improvement on the motorway. “If I will have my meals, unless I perform on 4 different stages”, he added.
Every ear on his (Sarkodie) voice was anxious on what to hear next. He exclaimed, “I’ve now charged, you don’t respect the state, you pack the country’s money and the needles at Korle Bu are all rusted”. Thinking it will end there; Michael gave the First Man of the State, President Atta Mills his fair share. “Uncle Atta, it’s not the Fante that is relevant. We need more schools at Sogakope, four months children at Ada do not even sleep on mattresses”
Listen to “Issues”, the mixtape from the camp of Dunc Wills Entertainment’s progeny, Sarkodie which features Mohammed and judge the ‘madness’ in his emotional raps.
