Mills went through similar challenges Mahama is going through- Koku Anyidoho

mahama1Former Director of Communications at the Presidency Koku Anyidoho has admitted that late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills went through the same challenges President John Dramani Mahama is going through, pointing out that just like the late president surmounted those challenges, President Mahama will prevail.

‘We hope that the current challenges will move away just as President Mills’ moved away. It is not peculiar to this administration.’

Mr Anyidoho observed that every era has its own challenges just like past presidents in the Fourth Republic had encountered.

The former presidential staffer was speaking to TV3’s Bridget Otoo on Midday Live on Wednesday, July 23, a day before the second anniversary of the death of the third president of the current Republic.

President Mills died on July 24, 2012 at the 37 Military Hospital after a short illness and was buried on August 10, 2012 at the Asomdwee Park in Accra.

A solemn ceremony of family and friends is scheduled to be held on Thursday, July 24 at the Park in memoriam of the academic, sports administrator and politician.

A lecture is also scheduled to be addressed by Former Minister of Education Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas to mark the anniversary.

‘People should remember [late President Mills] that he came to serve and to give off his best to his country and committed himself to building a better Ghana, expanding infrastructure, building a strong and resilient economy, creating jobs and changing the face of governance [by] moving away from the politics of vindictiveness to the politics of an acceptable and appreciable levels of forgiveness,’ Mr Anyidoho observed.

He was confident that with determination and commitment the current challenges in the country will be over.

‘No matter the difficult times, once we are committed to it, we will get out of it.’
