GOAT THIEF1A 20-year-old unemployed ex-convict has been arrested for stealing a pregnant nanny goat. He was arrested when he was aboard a bus heading to Agbogbloshie to sell his bounty.

The suspect, Benjamin Adjure Sowah, was arrested upon a tip-off by the driver of the bus.

Speaking to The Finder, the Teshie Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Simon Agbodeka, said the driver became suspicious when Benjamin boarded the bus with a heavy load.

According to the DSP Agbodeka, the driver proceeded to inform the

neighbourhood watchdog community members who were on duty around.

Immediately, the watchdog community members approached the suspect and interrogated him about his luggage, but Benjamin only told them that it was his personal belongings.

Not convinced, the community members searched through the bag and found clothes, but underneath was a dead pregnant nanny goat.

When questioned, Benjamin said he found the goat at Teshie and decided to sell it at Agbogbloshie; however, he could not answer why he hid the goat the way he did.

According to DSP Agbodeka, Benjamin has been jailed previously for other offences of stealing.
