I visited the Market Circle (Takoradi) branch of Ecobank on Monday 11th August to make transactions on behalf of www.233times.net and as soon as I entered the bank, I saw all the tellers in gloves. Obviously everyone is informed on the latest pandemic in the West Africa; Ebola.
According to information circulating in the media and issued by World Health Organisation (WHO), the Ebola virus cannot be contracted via handling of money. My worry after seeing the tellers in gloves is, is there something they are not informing the public on?
On a more serious note, the tellers hardly make any physical contact with customers, which is one of the main ways to contract the disease so if handling the money possess a threat, then the public should be informed on it.
Honestly, Ecobank should explain their actions because their customers are worried.
