Sarkodie’s ‘Free Press’ song which has generated a lot of controversy in and outside Ghana is still the topic of discussion on Showbiz platforms. Whereas fans of the ‘Rapperholic’ agree with him, media men are taking offence in the song.
The Business Manager of Duncwills Entertainment, Samuel Forson who doubles as the Manager of every Talent under the Duncwills Entertainment label including Sarkodie speaking on Top FM, a radio station in Accra said “a lot of people are getting Sarkodie out of context. If you try to listen without judging him, you will realize a little bit of positive staffs he is trying to say.
“It’s depressing when you travel outside and you do not come across any media house from your homeland but only foreign ones. So he is calling on the media that besides doing local stories in Ghana, they should be initiative or also try to relate to the outside media so that when a Ghanaian is going out to represent Ghana, you will be there to see everything for yourself than to rather rely on foreign media and report it on certain sense”
Barima Kaakyire Agyeman, host of the popular “Agro Mu Anigye” Entertainment Show probed Mr. Forson if management agrees to the contents of the song. Sammy Forson’s reply to the question was “as a manager of Duncwills Entertainment, I support whatever my Artiste have done”
On apology, the Manager was asked if the BET award winner will eat the humble pie by saying sorry to the media, Sammy Forson said “if the media will listen to what he is saying, it will help us all. He didn’t mean to insult the media or anything. He is just trying to say that take it the next level or put it in a better way.”
