As the governing National Democratic Congress [NDC] begin procedures to elect new National Executives for the party, alleged closed door meetings amongst some stalwarts of the party is supposedly on the way as to who partners President John Dramani Mahama as running mate for the 2016 presidential elections. However, the Director of Communications of the National Democratic Party [NDP], Ernest Kofi Owusu-Bempah Bonsu has emphatically stated that, the NDC will not retain incumbent Vice-President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur in 2016.
According to him, flawless information gathered indicates that the Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of Ghana Cocoa Board [COCOBOD], Dr. Stephen K Opuni will in 2016 partner President Mahama as his running mate only if he meets some requirements by the President.
He noted that, Dr. Opuni’s choice as Vice-President was imposed on the President by the “Gonja Mafias” in the NDC during a closed door meeting at the President’s private residence over the weekend.
“Folks I can confirm to you that Dr. Opuni of cocoa board has been given the nod by the Gonja mafias to be the running mate for John Dramani Mahama [President] for the 2016 election” he stated.
“A close door meeting took place Btn [between] JDM [President John Dramani Mahama], Dr. Opuni, Baba Kamara and head of the Gonja mafia at residence of JDM,” he emphasized.
“…His [Dr. Opuni] first task is to use cocoa board to raise over $50million for the 2016 campaign and Jospong, zoomlion owner will be paid $95 million for some ghost contract and he will be made to paid the monies back into the campaign chess,” Owusu-Bempah alleged on hisFacebook wall.
