Dr Kwesi Botchwey takes P.V. Obeng’s position

Dr.-Kwesi-BotchweyPresident John Dramani Mahama has nominated a former Finance Minister, Dr Kwesi Botchwey, as chair of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).

He will be taking over from the late P. V. Obeng who died of Asthmatic attack in May this year.

Dr. Botchwey who is Ghana’s longest serving finance minister is currently the Board Chairman of the Ghana National Gas Company.

The President has also appointed Dr. Nii Moi Thompson as Acting Director-General of the NDPC.

Until his appointment, Dr. Thompson was an Economic Adviser to the President.
