The Chiefs and People of Bamboi say they share with pride and honour the electoral success of northern son John Dramani Mahama and his subsequent induction into the high office of the President of the Republic.
A statement issued on Monday 14th January, 2013 and signed by the Paramount Chief of Bamboi Traditional Area, Nana Kwaku Damoah II noted: “Having been part of your leadership Beginning and Grooming for this country, we genuinely believe your quest to occupy the highest office of the land was not occasioned by the need to fill a Position, but to fulfill a purpose in response to leadership and national development”.
“Your stunning rise to the highest office of the Land is of historic importance, not only in terms of bringing your charismatic attributes, Youthful spirit and personality and your passion for success to bear on the leadership of this country, but also deepening the common cultural and modern political historic bond we share with you for putting the hitherto unknown and least mentioned Bamboi and Bole in the Political Profile of Ghana as well as mending a culturally diverse Bamboi and Bole as Twin-Traditional Areas, whose attraction and twinning significance is inextricably linked to your personality and leadership. This is an eloquent demonstration of the fact that unity is a practical part of your leadership character and this country can count on you in this Endeavour for national unity and Development.”
Even though they foresee a tough road for the President, the statement said the Chiefs and people are solidly behind him to ensure his administration succeeds.
“With your acceptance as a worthy son of the least-visible but three-ethnically diverse Northern Regions united only by poverty as a national symbol, Trademark and Test of Leadership, the challenge to your leadership is enormous in building bridges between Poverty and Prosperity because you have lived, seen and felt poverty.”
“We the chiefs and people of Bamboi can only wish for the best of leadership and God’s blessing for you and calls on all Ghanaians irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political differences to unite behind the President, and offer the requisite understanding, cooperation and prayers in this history beckoning leadership whose huge challenging responsibility has starved it of the usual fashion and comfort of Presidential Office.”
