Kumawood Actor Akrobeto to contest for Member of Parliament in 2016? Akrobeto speaks

Akrobeto1Celebrated Actor and arguably one of the best Kumawood can boast of, Akwasi Boadi popularly known as Akrobeto is rumoured to habour an ambition to contest for the Member of Parliament in 2016 on the ticket of New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The unconfirmed rumour has been circulating in Takoradi for the past month and a section of his fan base in the metropolis were worried that it could destroy his acting career. On OC Showbiz Review on Skyy Powe 93.5 FM, Nana Kwame the Master Planner in an interview asked Akrobeto if the rumour was true and the Kumawood Actor was shocked as to where this wild rumour emanated from.
Akrobeto said “I will never play around government till I leave this earth. I am content with this career I am in; let them take their government and let us take our movie. I am very proud of this job I have chosen. I don’t want to sleep and wake up to an accusation that I have used the state funds on myself. My mum sees me and she’s happy, my sisters, my fans all see me and they are happy, if you don’t want this, what else do you want? If you are able to be successful whether before you entered into government or not, people will say it’s the state funds you are feeding on. So please disregard all these rumours, they are not true. The only job I would want to do aside acting is selling pure water and sleep in the night. ”
Asking him if he has considered how his presence in legislature could influence the movie industry, Akrobeto answered “Oh yes I agree with you but there is a proverb that a tiny bird considers its size before making its nest. I am not even qualified on the basis of education. And two, I cannot even cope with that pressure in the parliament house. My joy is in how people see me and say oh Akrobeto is handsome, I like your movies etc. That is what God gifted me with, not parliament.”
Akrobeto who spoke in Twi throughout the interview on OC Showbiz Review said it is never true so those in Takoradi should treat the rumour beneath contempt.
