IGP takes over Vicky Hamah’s lover case

vicky1Reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, has taken over the alleged fraud case reported by a certain Kwame Amponsah, miner and gold dealer, against Richard Frimpong–Dardo, the lover of former Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hamah.

Frimpong –Dardo is alleged to have vanished into thin air after an amount of $260,000 was deposited in his foreign account on behalf of the miner.

The suspect was on Monday arrested by the Dansoman police in Accra in respect of the purported fraud.

An attempt to detain the suspect did not go down well with Ms Hamah, who stormed the station to protest vehemently in defence of her lover.

Assault

Ms Hamah, the paper learnt, later filed a complaint of assault and harassment against Kwame Amponsah, the complainant in the case, at the Dansoman Police Station.

DAILY GUIDE later gathered that the former deputy minister was given a hospital form for medical attention but that ploy had not stopped police investigations into her lover’s fraud case.

At a closed door meeting with the Chief Constable on Tuesday, IGP Mohammed Alhassan promised to ensure that the matter was investigated and justice delivered.

Frimpong-Dardo, who is currently on bail, is yet to report to the police as at the time of filing this report, after he was detained for close to three hours on Monday until his lawyer secured his bail.

The suspected fraudster had gone underground until DAILY GUIDE published a story about him and Vicky Hamah, alerting the complainant about his whereabouts, which led to the instruction to the Dansoman police to arrest him (Richard).

The paper gathered that Richard had been on the police wanted list after Kwame Amponsah reported a fraud case against him.

Boasting

Victoria Hamah was said to be boasting in the presence of the police that she was going to call President John Dramani Mahama on phone for him to intervene amid insults on the complainants when she stormed the police station.

According to Kwame Amponsah, during the heated argument, and in the full glare of the public, he was shocked when Victoria Hamah accused him and his friend, Joseph Bediako, of having fondled her breasts.

Speaking on Okay Fm’smorning show programme on Tuesday, Kwame Amponsah said that Vicky threatened to deal with them after she claimed to have called the President and the Chief of Staff, Prosper Douglas Bani, in the presence of the police officers.

“I just can’t believe her. She was shouting on top of her voice, claiming to have called the President that we have smooched her breast and ass. The police couldn’t stop her childish behaviour. So this lady was appointed as a minister?” he queried.

According to the complainant, he gave permission to some business partners of his in the United States to deposit an amount of $260,000 in Richard’s foreign account but the latter bolted with the money until DAILY GUIDE reported last week that he was hiding at Vicky’s place at Dansoman.

Lover Sick

Meanwhile, checks by DAILY GUIDE at the police CID Headquarters yesterday indicated that Richard Frimpong-Dardo did not report as requested by the police after invitation was extended to him.

A source disclosed that when the police finally contacted his counsel who stood in as surety for his release at the Dansoman police station last Monday, the lawyer, a certain Opare, purportedly told the police his client was on admission at a health facility but could not give details of the health centre.

Meanwhile, when the paper contacted Kwame Amponsah, the complainant in the case, he confirmed that when he also confirmed from the Police Headquarters, he was told the suspect (Frimpong-Dardo) was sick.
