Mahama should appoint Amidu as AG if he want to fight corruption – PPP dares

Dr.-Nduom-as-he-addressed-PPP-members-at-the-VIP-Wing-of-the-Accra-Sports-Stadium-on-Saturday1A member of the Communications Team of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Charles Owusu, has vehemently concluded that President John Mahama cannot fight corruption in his government because he is fallible of the same practice.

According to him, the President’s inability to stop corruption in his government is due to the fact that all his appointees have seen the opportunity in Mahama’s administration to steal and squander state funds without punishment.

Speaking on Oman Fm, the PPP Activist stated that the massive corruption in Mahama’s administration is unbearable, describing it as criminal and suicidal as $16 million out of $300 million loan for the country was given to the person who helped to secure the loan.

Looking at the various scandals about NDC government in SADA, SUBA, GYEEDA, Woyome and the recent Brazil 2104 World Cup fact findings, Charles Owusu was convinced that the sovereignty of the nation has died down due to corruption, leaving the country in a deplorable state.

He however dared President Mahama to appoint the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Martin Amidu back to is position if he is determined to fight corruption wholeheartedly, as he (Martin Amidu) has demonstrated single-handedly that he is committed to fighting the canker.

“Until we separate the Attorney General’s appointment from government appointments, the various institutions will continue to be dysfunctional…every corrupt findings end at the doorstep of the President and so the institutions have become powerless and useless…BNI in the NSS scandal cannot resolve the problem because the final decision to either prosecute or not rest in the hands of the A-G and we have many instances which have not been handled to the end.The truth is that President Mahama used the country’s money to get into power and so now all his appointees have seen there is an opportunity to steal because the President himself squandered our money and nothing happened to him; he did the same thing his appointees are doing now and so he cannot stop them,”he chided.

He further called on all the political parties in opposition to form a strong alliance to overthrow John Mahama’s government as the NDC is not ready to serve and push the country towards development.
