Gospel Artiste Kofi Sarpong robbed at Police Station

maxresdefault (1)Although it is a painful experience to get robbed of your personal belongings and properties, the act of robbery has unfortunately become a daily phenomenon – but it is quite shocking to get robbed at the premises of a Police Station supposed to have the most stringent security.

What is even more shocking is the fact that, the victim involved is a high-ranking Police Officer, who was robbed in his Police Jeep at the premises of a high security Police grounds.

That is the situation that befell popular Ghanaian gospel musician, Superintendent Kofi Sarpong, affectionately called DSP Kofi Sarpong- who had his personal belonging including money, jewelry and clothes stolen after his Police Jeep was broken into at a time when it was parked at the Ghana Police Headquarters in Accra.

The unfortunate, yet, surprising tale occurred last week, the night before the soft-spoken musician was scheduled to travel to United Kingdom for a concert.

Razz Newspaper got in touch with the Manager of DSP Sarpong, Mr. Kwesi Ernest Ennin, who confirmed the mugging. “DSP is dejected, very worried and emotionally-drained over the robbery,” he stated.

According to him, the car was under the care of another Police Officer, who is said to have parked it at the Headquarters with DSP’s already-packed luggage in the car. The driver was supposed to meet the musician with his travel documents and other stuff at the airport.

Mr. Ennin intimated that a report has already been filed at the Police Headquarters and arrangements are being made for his artiste to travel for another concert in the UK before the close of the year.
