Police men brutalize man at Effiakuma (PHOTO)


A 24-year-old man whose name was given as Richard Paintsil was brutalized by 2 police men at Effiakuma, a suburb of Takoradi on 6th November, 2014.

The victim who is a rigger at IL Kwang Engineering and Construction Limited in Takoradi was buying Indomie at Effiakuma when the seller could not change the GHc20.00 money given her. Speaking to Philip Osei Bonsu on Skyy Power 93.5 fm’s Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS), Richard said he asked the two (2) police men who were also in a queue to buy the indomie whether they could change his GHc20.00 note for him to enable him pay for the indomie.

The two police men who took offence in the changing of money asked them by Richard started beating him with handcuff. Speaking to www.233times.net after the morning show, Richard said his whole body received the beatings with the metallic handcuff which has affected his eye.

Richard who is a resident of Anaji gave one of the names of the policemen as Lott. He has reported the case to the Central Police Station in Takoradi.

The two policemen are officers at the Effiakuma station.
