Ghanaian players abroad: Comprehensive wrap of players performances

ITALY

Boakye Yiadom came on in the 72nd minute and got sent off in the 90 minute when his team Atalanta tasted a painful 2-1 defeat at home to AS Roma.

Rahman Chibsah warmed the Sassuolo bench as they won 1-0 away at Torino.

Kwadwo Asamoah was out through injury as Juventus demolished Lazio by 3-0 at the Stadio Olympico.

Alfred Duncan could not make the Sampdoria team that drew 1-1 at Cesena at the Stadio D. Manuzzi.

Afriyie Acquah also played full 90 minutes for Parma in their 0-2 lost at home to Empoli.

Both Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Isaac Cofie played for Udinese and Chievo Verona respectively as both team shared honours. Badu was substituted in the 70th minute whiles Cofie came on to play the final 4 minutes.

Sulley Muntari started and lasted 76 minutes for AC Milan as the Rossoneri drew 1-1 at home with Inter Milan. Teammate and close pal Micheal Essien was not in the Milan team. Youngster Isaac Donkoh was also on the substitute bench for Inter.

In Serie B, Both Amidu Salifou and Acosty Boadu-Maxwell were absent from the Modena team that beat Pescara 2-0 at home.

Moro Alhassan was a bench warmer for Vicenza in their 1-1 draw with Cittadella.

Youngster Isaac Ntow could not make the Brecia team that drew 3-3 at home with Carpi.

 

SPIAN

Derek Boateng was an unused substitute in Eibar’s 4-0 humiliation at home to Real Madrid.

In the Segunda Liga, goalkeeper Razak Brimah kept a clean sheet as his team Mirandes recorded a 1-0 win over Leganes.

 

GERMANY

Firebrand Kevin Prince Boateng was excellent in Schalke O4’s 3-2 win over Wolvesburg at the Veltins Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Ghanaian International laid on a perfect pass to Cameroonian international Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to score his side’s second in the 22nd minute.

Baba Abdul Rahman played the full game and helped Augsburg defeat VFB Stuttgart 1-0 away.

 

ENGLAND

In the Barclays Premiership, Everton defeated West Ham United 2-1 at the Goodison Park. Ghanaian international Christian Atsu made the substitute bench for Everton.

Elsewhere at the River side Stadium, Jeffery Schlupp played 72 minutes for Leicester City who were held to a goalless draw by Sunderland.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah lasted the full 90 minutes and got booked in the 68th minute as Middelsbrough earned themselves a point by drawing 1-1 with Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

Defender Seth Ofori-Twumasi also lasted full minutes for Yeovil Town who drew 0-0 away at Notts County.

In the League two, Kwasi Appiah played 90 minutes for Cambridge United in their 1-0 loss to Accrington Stanley.

Former Aston Villa full-back Curtis Obeng was substituted 14 minutes from time as his team Newport County won 3-1 away at Bury.

Derek Asamoah’s goal was not enough to help Carlisle avoid a 4-2 defeat at Dagenham&Redbridge. Compatriot David Amoo was an unused substitute.

Patrick Agyemang was missing from the match-day squad for Portsmouth who won 3-0 at home over Morecambe.

In the English Conference, Duan Ofori-Acheampong saw full action when his team Kidderminster went away to defeat Grimsby 2-0.

In other matches, Bernard Mensah came on in the 65th minute for Barnet and helped them in their 1-1 stalemate with Woking away.

Torquay United shared spoils with Gateshead when they drew 2-2. Ghana-born Ahmed Obeng warmed the bench for Torquay.

 

FRANCE

French-born Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah was not included in the match-day squad for FC Caen who went away to secure a point at Monaco by drawing 2-2 at the Stade Louis II.

Jordan Ayew returned from the international break to help Lorient pip Lens 1-0 at the Stade du Moustoir. The impressive attacker played the full 90 minutes and was booked in the 76th minute.

Andre Ayew missed out through injury when his team Olympic Marseille won 3-1 over Bordeaux at the Stade Veladrome.

 

 SCOTLAND

Mubarak Wakasu failed to make the Celtic team that won 2-1 at home over Dundee at the Celtic Park.

In the Championship, Prince Buaben could not get any minutes despite returning from injury as his team Hearts of Midthlodian won 2-0 over Rangers at the Tynecastle Stadium.

Abdul Osman got booked in the 33rd minute as his team Partick Thistle lost 1-0 to Aberdeen at the Firhill Stadium.

 

NETHERLANDS

Mawouna Kodjo Amevor watched from the substitute bench when his team Go Ahead Eagles managed a 2-0 win over NAC Breda at De Adelaarshorst. Both Jeffery Sarpong and Kingsley Boateng played for NAC.

Elvis Manu was missing from the Feyenoord Squad that won 2-0 over Dordrecht. Erixon Danso was in action for Dordrecht but got substituted in the 56th minute.

Shadrach Eghan si still nursing an injury and was out from the Twente Enschede squad that won 2-1 at PEC Zwolle.

Reagan Antwi could not make the match-day squad for FC Utrecht as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at home to Cambuur Leewarden.

Edwin Gyasi was a bench warmer for SC Heracles Almelo as they scored three goals past ADO Den Haag

In the Eerste Divisie, Frank Wiafe Danquah came on in the 72nd minute and helped Achilles defeat Helmond Sport by beating them 3-2 at the Sportpark de Herkant.

Jonathan Opoku played 90 minutes for Oss and helped them secure a point at the Sparta Stadion as they drew 2-2 with Sparta Rotterdam.

 

 

RUSSIA

A lone goal from Brazilian star Hulk saw Zenith edging past Kuban Krasnodar. Rabiu Mohammed was on the bench for Kuban at the Petrovski Stadium

 

DENMARK

Youngster Daniel Amartey played at center-back for FC Copenhagen and propelled them to a 1-0 win over Sikeborg IF.

Francis Dickoh was a pillar in defense for Midtjylland when they defeated Aalborg 2-0 at home. The sturdy center-half went into the referee’s books in the 13th minute.

 

SWITZERLAND

Ebenezer Assifuah came on to play the final 10 minutes for Sion Sitten who were thumped 3-1 at home by FC Zurich. Ishmael Yartey was on the substitute bench for Sion.

 

EGYPT

John Antwi netted his 8th goal of the season in Ismaily’s 1-1 draw with Al-Ittihad-Al Sakandary on Saturday. The 22-year-old pulled parity in the 66th minute after Mohammed Farouk had shot Al-Ittihad into the lead. He however played the entire minutes.

Youngster Peter Oduro Kwarteng played 90 minutes for Petrojet in their 0-1 defeat at home to El Gaish

 

SOUTH AFRICA

In the ABSA Premier League, Mpumalanga Black Aces lost 2-1 at home to Bay United. Former Asante Kotoko defender Kwabena Adusei was on the bench for Black Aces whiles teammate Edwin Gyimah was left out from the Aces squad.

Former Wa Al Stars midfielder John Awuah was an unused substitute for Amazulu who lost 4-2 away at Silver Stars.

Former Black Stars full-back John Paintil was instrumental for Meritzburg United in their 0-0 draw with Ajax Cape Town. Mohammed Awal was missing from the Meritzburg squad.

 

BELGIUM

David Addy played the full 90 minutes for Waasland-Beveren who were defeated 4-2 by Club Brugge .

Denis Odoi also lated 90 minutes for KSC Lokeren as they managed to hold Westerlo to a goalless draw game.

Bernard Kumordzi played 90 minutes for Racing Genk in their 2-2 draw at home with KV Mechelen.

Versatile Nana Kwasi Asare was a full timer for Gent in their 4-0 thrashing over Cercle Brugge.

Frank Acheampong played at his new left-back role as his team Anderlecht was shockingly defeated 3-1 by Royal Charleroi.

 

TURKEY

Majeed Waris could not make the match-day squad for Trabzonspor as they went away to record an emphatic 3-0 win over Galatasaray.

John Boye played full 90 minutes for Erciyesspor in their 2-1 lost to Eskisehirspor. Jerry Akaminko is still sidelined by injury and was out of the team.

 

ROMANIA

Sadat Bukari continued his impressive performance for Astra Guingui when he scored his fifth goal of the season to help them pull a draw with Universtitia Cluj.

 

CZECH REPUBLIC

Both Derrick Mensah and Francis Narh played 90 minutes for Benick Ostrava who lost 1-2 at home to Jablonec.

 

SERBIA

Former Hearts of Oak skipper Moro Abubarkar was left on the substitute bench in Donji Srem’s 1-1 home draw with Subotica.
