Chelsea set to loan Atsu

Chelsea are eager to recall Ghanaian youngster Christian Atsu on loan from Everton in January.

The former Porto player is likely to be farmed out to Gustavo Poyet’s Sunderland, according to English tabloid Express.

The Ghanaian winger has tasted just 70-minutes worth of Premier League action at Merseyside and has failed to impress. Atsu is now behind John MCGeady, Kelvin Mirralas and Steven Pienaar for a place on the Everton flanks.

The Blues are therefore keen on recalling the 21-year-old since he has a greater chance of establishing himself as a first-team player at the Stadium of Lights.

Everton fans were hoping Atsu would replicate the success they had with Barcelona wonder kid Gerard Deulofeu.
