Sekondi: Woman kidnapped by sakawa boys rescued

kidnap-ransomA 28 year old woman who was kidnapped together with her 2 year old baby by an unknown assailants at Ehyiamu near Sekondi might still be thanking her stars after being rescued by the community folks shortly after being kidnapped.

The woman, Mena Aba, a peasant farmer reportedly left for the farm which is about a kilometer away from home on Wednesday morning (Dec, 3, 2014) around 9am with her baby boy and 7 year old daughter.

A few minutes later, the 7 year old daughter rushed home to report of her mother’s kidnap. The little girl who was  traumatized claimed the mother was in the process of harvesting cassava when all of a sudden some unidentified assailants emerged from the bush and whisked away the mum with the baby boy strapped at the back.

Upon hearing the news, the youth in the community quickly organised themselves in groups and launched into the bush in search of the victim

Fortunately, they intercepted one of the suspected kidnappers with the victims, whereupon they arrested him and sent to the chief’s palace

The suspect who would not even mention his name confessed they were 3 who came from Kojokrom, an adjoining community for that mission to kidnap someone for Sakawa.

The other 2 are still on the run whilst the woman and her baby have been reunited with their family.
