The on-loan Chelsea player says Essien and Torres are his role models but draws a lot of inspiration from his countryman Nigel de Jong
Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel has revealed that he draws inspiration from AC Milan team-mate Nigel de Jong whilst Ghanaian Michael Essien and Spain’s Fernando Torres are great role models.
Van Ginkel is on loan from Chelsea where he failed to make an impact after suffering a career-threatening six-month knee injury.
“My team-mates complimented me after Sunday, it was good for my confidence,” Van Ginkel told Tribal Football. “De Jong is an inspiration for me, it’s wonderful to play with him.”
“[Fernando] Torres and [Michael] Essien are also great role models, I’ve seen them on TV and now I’m playing with them. They are great players, and also really nice lads,” he added.
