Hiplife star and former boyfriend of stunning Ghanaian actress Nana Ama Mcbrown, has reiterated his gratitude to the screen goddess, whom he said, has been very instrumental in building his solo career.

Okyeame Kwame is a creative musician and dramatist who started his music career as a member of the duo – Akyeame. His rise on the music scene even after the duo got separated has been impressive as the rapper moved on to become “the favourite rapper’s favourite rapper” in his own words.

The rapper who went on a musical hiatus to seek greener pastures in America together with his partner Okyeame Quophie, said none of his achievements would have been possible without the help of some people including, Nana Ama Mcbrown who “believed in him” upon his return.

“She was the number one actress in town at the time and became my friend and one thing led to the other and we started a relationship and she was so instrumental to my solo career.

“She used to drive me around every part of Ghana. And because she was already here in Ghana she had great relationship with presenters and agenda populists,” he remarked on Starr Chat with Bola Ray.

He added:“I think for my career, it was nature that brought me and Nana Ama Mcbrown (together) because she was actually the great force behind mine.” Kwame Nsiah-Apau, real name, has been married to his “best friend” Anicca for six years and the couple have two children.

He has so far released 7 albums (4 while with the group Akyeame and 3, solo) and is currently working on his next album. As Akyeame; the group produced Nyansapo in 1997, Nkonsonkonson in 1998, Ntoaso in 2000 and Apam Foforo in 2002.

His solo albums include Bohyeba in 2005, M’anwensem (My Poetry) in 2008, and The Clinic in 2011. The Rap Doctor has also successfully established his annual play ‘The Okyeame Kwame Versatile Show’.
