The New Patriotic Party(NPP) has said it is unfazed by the election of new executives for the National Democratic Congress(NDC.)
Speaking to Citi News the Director of Communications of the NPP Nana Akomea believes the new executives would be incapable of preventing the NDC’s defeat in 2016.
Delegates of the NDC elected new national executives to steer the affairs of the party ahead of the 2016 general elections last Saturday.
A total of 3,354 party delegates elected the party’s new executives out of about 98 aspirants at the NDC’s 8th national delegates’ congress.
Some of the aspirants lost their positions while others were maintained.
Dr. Kwabena Adjei, for instance, was unseated by Kofi Portuphy while Asiedu Nketsia maintained his position as the party’s Gneeral Secretary.
Former Attorney General and Minister of Jusitice, Betty Mould Iddrisu was also elected as a Vice Chairman in the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She was elected along with six others; former Local Government Minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Harry Zakour, Anita De-Sosoo, Anthony Gyampo and Ambassador Lee Ocran, by delegates of the NDC in Kumasi.
