Kwaw Kese readmitted at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital

kwaw court2Hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese, who is currently in the grips of the law for smoking cannabis, has been readmitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

It is unclear why he was rushed to the hospital Tuesday, shortly after appearing in court. This will be the second time has been sent there while in prison.

He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on December 11, a day before he made his second appearance in court. He complained of stomach upset.

Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor reported that Kwaw Kese is currently under 24-hour guard at a special ward at KATH. According to him, doctors say they will monitor him and is likely he will not be discharged Wednesday.

Kwaw Kese, born Emmanuel Botwe, was arrested on Saturday, November 22 by the police at Nhyiaeso in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. He is facing charges for smoking weed.

He is to spend the Christmas and the New Year behind bars after the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Court refused to grant him bail Tuesday.

At the hearing Tuesday, December 23, 2014, Judge William Boampong refused the bail application despite pleas from counsel for the defendant to be released on health grounds.

Kwaw Kese, who was in a tearful mood, personally begged the judge saying “I’m suffering” but Judge Boampong refused.

The judge ruled that the defendant be sent back to prison custody until the next adjourned date, January 5, 2015.
