This was the result of a survey conducted by FAKS Investigative Services, a Ghanaian research and background investigative company.
The survey which is the 3rd edition was conducted between September 30, 2014 and December 31, 2014. The first and second editions took place in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
Method of the survey
FAKS team interview (sample) 3,437 respondents across the country as against 4,500 respondents targeted. But the nominations were far more than the respondents.
The ages of the respondents were between 18 and 65 years. They include students from Senior High School, Tertiary, Public Servants, Chiefs, Self employers, traders and among others.
We talked to 1,581 respondents between the ages of 18 and 35, representing 46%; 1,169 respondents between the ages of 35 and 45, representing 34%; 388 respondents between the ages of 45 and 55, representing 11.3%; and 299 respondents between the ages of 55 and 65, representing 8.7%.
Out of the total number of respondents the team interviewed, Ashanti Region recorded 428 respondents representing 12.4%; Greater Accra region recorded 421 representing 12.3%; Eastern region had 396 representing 11.5%; Brong Ahafo 352 representing 10.2%; and Central Region 349 representing 10.1%.
The rest are Volta region 336 representing 9.8%; Western Region 322 representing 9.4%; Northern region 310 representing 9.0%; Upper East 289 representing 8.4%; and Upper West 234 representing 6.8%.
Averagely each respondent nominated three or more Ministers but not more than five nominations.
FAKS Investigative Services scored the best sector Ministers, Deputies, Regional Ministers and MPs according to the number of respondents each had.
On the part of the 10 Regional Ministers we decided to rate all of them in this 3rd edition. This was because they spent some few months in office prior to the start of the project. However, we may revert to the best three Ministers in our subsequent editions or still maintain this system.
The scores are in this form; 85-100% Excellence (A+); 75-85% Very Good (A); 65-75% Good (B+); Partial 50-65% (B).
