Vodafone Ghana Music Awards TOO Expensive?

Head sponsoring the Ghana Music Awards this year, Vodafone Ghana Limited takes over from MTN which over the years had held the waist of Ghana Music strong. The Multinational Company, Vodafone, which promises better awards this year with new inclusion of categories to buttress their eagerness to raise the awards to an international par is tipped with red pen by most music lovers as ‘men of their words’ in their better Music Awards Agenda.

2nd April, 2012, was not a very laugh provoking day for those who were so much saving to attend the competitive awards ever to hit Ghana. Why? After the release of the amount of the ticket fee for the 14th April,2012 awards ceremony, many people began losing hope in its attendance. Ordinary fee for the ceremony is GH100.00 and VIP’s are allowed in with a payment of GH200.00.

This reporter’s phone has not been left idle since the release of the fee. Just a day that follows the world known April fool, many people thought others were having hangover from yesterday’s (1st April) prank. “Yes that’s the amount, GH100.00 for ordinary and GH200.00 for VIP”, this reporter kept answering calls with this statement. “Eii why the whole YMCMB crew they come?” was one statement a friend made after the confirmation of the price.

With very competitive categories which is poking almost all Ghanaians to witness for themselves the winners, Vodafone could reconsider the pricing as the voice of the people chorus in an expensive ceremony. Unless for some other reasons more confidential than public, Vodafone should please listen to the cry of many out there yearning to attend the ceremony.
