Reports reaching this medium indicates that a Ghanaian is alleged to be amongst 21 Egyptian Christians beheaded by ISIL affiliates in Libya.

Videos of the beheadings were released yesterday but the gruesome killings was reported to have occured in Jnauary.

The Ghanaian identified by friends in the video as Mr Mathew Ayairga. His name initially appeared on the list of the dead as Samuel A. Wilson but friends who saw the video and recognised him said his real name is Matthew Ayariga.

He was a construction worker in the Libya City of Sirte where the killings took place.

According to reports, he was travelling to Tripoli en-route to Ghana when he was arrested somewhere in January 2015. He was never seen again until friends identified him on TV yesterday.

Meanwhile, efforts are being made to contact his relatives in the City of Sirte by leaders of The Ghanaian association in Libya
