Ghanaian Artiste and brother on trial for murder

7c34a845a594387dc9f43e40882243ae_LA musician and his unemployed brother are standing trial before an Accra Circuit Court for attempting to steal and murder their victim.

Tejeh Terry, alias Young Soul, the musician and Simon Terry, his brother, pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy to commit crime (to wit murder) and have been remanded in  police custody.

They are to reappear on  March 30, 2015.

The facts of the case as presented to the court by the prosecutor, ACP Yirenkye, were that the police had  information that two men at Madina wanted fire arms to kill someone.

According to the information, Tejeh allegedly wanted to kill his manager for terminating a contract between them.

ACP Yirenkye said  the police feigned interest  and offered to hire pistols to them on condition that the weapons  would  only be handed over to them in their target’s house and taken  back immediately after the job was done.

The accused persons agreed and met a detective who had the weapons in a taxi heading towards the target’s house.

ACP Yirenkye said the suspects demanded to see the weapon and the detective showed them an unserviceable pistol without ammunition.

Tejeh and Simon were arrested when they were almost at their target’s house.

According to prosecution, during investigation, it came to light that Tejeh was being managed by their target, Nana Nyarko Afriyie.

A two-year contract which was signed between them wasn’t favourable to Afriyie   so he terminated the  contract to the annoyance of Tejeh.

As a result Tejeh hired the services of Simon to help him eliminate Afriyie.

Investigations also revealed that Tejeh and Simon also planned  to steal the  flat screen TV sets, cars and other valuables in Afriyie’s house and set the house ablaze.
