Guru to win Artiste of the year at 2015 VGMA

80A1976-740x400“In 2014 if there is any Artiste in Ghana who made waves, it is Guru, no one can even contest, it is his time,” a fan of the NKZ Records Rapper revealed to www.233times.net

The prestigious Ghana Music Awards is two days away and there have been predictions by many as to who should win what and why. The flagship ‘Artiste of the year’ category is the much talked about every year and this year’s discussion seems to be going in favour of the arguably best Rapper in Ghana, Guru.

For 2014, Guru released 10 songs which did well in the system, popular of them being ‘Pastor,’ ‘Pooley,’ ‘Pooley swag,’ ‘Obaa Jack Chan,’ ‘Bonsam ani, among others. These songs enjoyed massive airplays which makes the Artiste one of the popular names in the year 2014.

With shows, Guru was on most major events in the country which makes him an obvious winner in the number of shows played proponent in assessing the winner in the Artiste of the year category.

As if he is a Linguistics Lecturer in Ghana, every year, Guru releases new words via music which becomes a mantra in the country; popular of them being ‘boys abr3’ and the recent ones, ‘Pooley’ and ‘Obaa Jack Chan.’

If there is anyone who is fit for the Artiste of the year category, many voices are shouting the name of Guru louder than any other name in the category. Will Guru win Artiste of the year in the 16th edition of Ghana Music Awards this Saturday?
